So last year, back when my bestie doesn't even have a passport yet, I've been bugging her about my dream of going back to Hong Kong Disneyland. So we booked flights a few months after (thanks bestie). βοΈ
Then when people ask me why I chose Hong Kong for my next destination I just respond with Disneyland π. A few understood, the rest just nodded their heads.
And a few days before this trip (when everything's booked online already), I got into thinking, would I enjoy going to a place that is much more targeted for kids?
(okay end intro...)
And now I am lucky enough to get to live it.
7 year old me π£would never think I'd get here.
It's just a costume. β¨
It's just make believe. β¨
But during the parades I found myself becoming a full on fan girl to those in front of me: from famous characters to the staff dancing along with them. The energy was just great πππ. We waved and smiled back at them, we even tried getting their attention by calling the names of the characters so that they'll look directly at us
...and thinking about it now it kinda looks/feels weird π€.
I have come in to terms that I will always want to take photos first before doing anything else because I will always want memories, and the downside to that is that sometimes I forget to just live in the moment. (Someone once told me not to take a lot of videos during concerts and it had made a difference ππ»)
It was a constant debate (me vs me) if I should take pictures.
Of course I took a lot of pictures, but knowing myself, I would've wanted more.
Roaming around the shops felt like I was one of those little kids begging their moms and dads for toys. But this time I am begging myself. This time I will suffer the damages of my decisions.
And that's the story of where all my money went in Hong Kong πΈπΈπΈ. And it wasn't like we aren't alarmed yet with the weight of our baggages anyway (we are).
Pro tip: To avoid the heat, just walk through the shops, they are all connected if your going to the castle from main street and vice versa
So I downloaded the Hong Kong Disneyland app to have access to the day's schedule, and we found ourselves overwhelmed with everything overlapping. Eventually we had to choose which ones are our priority and wait in line for those first, the rest we can check if there's time.
But there wasn't any time left. By 6PM everyone's too tired and we're all just shopping in gift stores or waiting for the next event in Main Street at 8PM.
We missed the railroad π. We didn't get the chance to watch a Moana show. Or wait in line for Donald Duck, Goofy, The Incredibles. We didn't have enough time to roam all of the places there (we probably just went back and fort to adventure land).
And that's still with the castle being closed and under construction (πΈimagine the hours I'd waste taking photos there πΈ).
I need 2 more days to fully absorb this magical land π.
The first on our priority list is Festival of the Lion King π¦.
I may have been smiling the whole time they were performing even though I've watch this show already 6 years ago ππ». After the performance me and my bestie already felt like we already got our money's worth. Everything else is already just bonus.
And it was just 12:30 in the afternoon by then.
And we got to experience this too after an hour long wait, what a dream! π

It had been a joke in the office that I am 7 which was mostly because of my height.
But going back here, maybe it will always be true.
